Getting out of my sleeping bag at 1am for the short trek from my campsite a couple hundred yards down the road from the summit of Washington Gulch so I could do some night-sky photography at this location was so worth the efforts.

My night-sky images were okay, but a low level cloud layer obstructed the images a little more than I’d have liked. But, my favorite time of day is sunrise and this one, sitting on Bill’s Bench on Trail 403 or standing behind the bench, watching the day come alive, was absolutely the best!!!
