There is little doubt that Crested Butte, CO, USA is my favorite location to shoot. Magnificent mountain vistas, enormous aspen groves, wildflowers (Crested Butte is the wildflower capital of Colorado) and so much more.

Every summer, during the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival, photographers from around the world along with plenty of others just out to see wildflowers converge on Crested Butte.

This image of Scarlet Gilia is one of those that came about through a serendipitous moment, when I was trekking through a familiar area, but looking for the out-of-the-ordinary. The light was just right to really capture an intimate and magical image of Scarlet Gilia.
